Officers responded to the 8700 block of Park Street on Friday, June 17, at around 7:36 a.m. for a report of a traffic crash involving a single-vehicle. Officers located a sedan that was off the road and had impacted a tree. According to FCPD Public Affairs Bureau, the initial investigation determined that an adult male was driving a 2008 Mazda 6 on the southbound lane of Park Street.
The driver of the Mazda, Deleon David DeJean, 20, of Vienna, was pronounced deceased by the paramedics at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle and there were no other injuries.
Detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to assume the investigation. Preliminary information suggests that speed was a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
