The Waynewood Elementary Staff was presented with the Virginia Board of Education Excellence Award on Thursday, June 9. Waynewood Elementary was recognized by the Governor and the Virginia Board of Education for exceeding state and federal accountability standards for student achievement. The award was presented to Waynewood Elementary’s Grade Level Team leaders by Mount Vernon District School Board representative Karen Corbett Sanders, Assistant Superintendent Terry Dade, Executive Principals Grace Taylor and Mark Greenfelder from Fairfax County Public Schools Region Three office.
