INCIDENTS

Animal Case - Quarantine- Hope Center, 140 Park St. SE. June 2, 9:14 a.m. A female technician at the Hope Center was bitten by a cat. The cat was placed in 10-day quarantine.

Juvenile - Cedar Lane School, 101 Cedar Lane, SW. June 2, 12:08 p.m. School staff called to report a disorderly student. When officers arrived the female student was no longer disorderly. The student remained at Cedar Lane School for the duration of the day.

Vehicle Tampering - Oak Vale Court, NW. Between June 1 at 9 p.m. and June 1 at 10 p.m. A resident called to report their vehicle had been rummaged through.

Hit and Run with Injury - 400 Block Maple Ave., West. June 2, 4:43 p.m. Several citizens called to report multiple vehicles had been struck and the striking vehicle had fled the area. Two officers arrived and found two vehicles had been struck and the drivers of the vehicles were suffering from non-life threatening injuries. While on scene of the initial accident in the Maple Avenue West area, an officer responded to an additional hit and run which occurred a short distance away on Wade Hampton Drive SW. At that scene a mailbox and street sign were knocked down, as well as damage to residential yards. Witnesses on both accident scenes provided matching descriptions of the striking vehicle, which were then broadcasted to surrounding jurisdictions. The striking vehicle was located in Fairfax County. Vienna Police Officers coordinated with Fairfax County Police Officers who arrested the male driver for charges that occurred within Fairfax County jurisdiction. Officers from Vienna Police Department obtained warrants for felony and misdemeanor hit and run for the male driver.

Domestic Dispute - Casmar Street, SE. June 2, 11:33 p.m. Officers responded to the listed area for a domestic dispute. The officers spoke with both a male and female subject. Both subjects stated nothing physical took place, only a verbal dispute. Both subjects were provided with information about counseling services.

Arrest – Driving While Intoxicated - Marshall Road and Nutley Street, SW. June 3, 12:05 a.m. An officer observed a vehicle make a traffic violation. When he spoke with the driver he observed signs of possible impairment. The driver of the vehicle was offered standard field sobriety tests, which they failed. The 40-year-old male driver from Columbia Pike, Arlington was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Animal Case - Quarantine - Hope Center, 140 Park St., SE. June 3, 9:57 a.m. A female technician with the Hope Center called to report a cat was euthanized after biting its owner. The cat was sent to the health department for rabies testing.

Fraud - 300 Block Park Street, NE. June 3, 10:49 a.m. A resident came to Vienna Police Department to report a fraud. The resident reported he was scammed over the phone for a sum of money.

Vandalism - 500 Block Valley Drive, SE. Between June 3 at noon and June 3 at 2:05 p.m. A resident called to report vandalism to their residence. An officer found the fence surrounding the yard of the residence had been spray painted.

Fraud - 100 Block Ross Drive, SW. June 3, 2:25 p.m. A resident called to report they were a victim of identity fraud. The female subject stated her identity had been fraudulently used at a bank.

Petit Larceny - Floors USA Design, 352 Maple Ave. West. June 3, 2:29 p.m. The manager of the store called to report an ex-employee stole multiple items from the store.

Arrest – Driving While Intoxicated - 1100 Block Hillcrest Drive, SW. June 4, 3:30 a.m. An officer observed a vehicle make a traffic violation. When he spoke with the driver of the vehicle he observed possible signs of impairment. The driver of the vehicle was offered standard

field sobriety tests, which they failed. The 27-year-old male driver from Hillcrest Drive SW, Vienna was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Domestic Dispute - Casmar Street, SE. June 4, 10 p.m. Officers responded to the listed area for a domestic dispute. The officers spoke with both a male and female subject. After speaking with both individuals they agreed to remain separated for the night.

Assist Fire/ EMS - 146 Patrick St., SE. June 5, 1:39 a.m. Officers responded to assist Fairfax County Fire & EMS with a vehicle fire. When officers arrived they found a moped and the rear of an adjacent vehicle on fire. Fairfax County Fire & EMS were able to extinguish the vehicle fire. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

Arrest – Driving While Intoxicated - 400 Block Maple Avenue, West. June 5, 3:33 a.m. An officer was on patrol when he observed a vehicle make several traffic violations. When he spoke with the driver he observed signs of possible impairment. The driver of the vehicle was offered standard field sobriety tests, which they failed. The subject was searched and a measurable amount of marijuana was found. The 30-year-old male driver from Holly Court, Herndon was arrested for driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. The driver was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Grand Larceny - 900 Block Ware Street, SW. June 5, 10:49 a.m. A resident called to report a caretaker for their elderly family member had stolen numerous items. The items were stolen over the course of a month.

Animal Case - 600 Block Valley Drive, SE. June 5, 1:56 p.m. A resident called to report there was an injured fox in their backyard. When an officer arrived he found the fox severely injured. He transported the fox to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.

Animal Case - Quarantine - Cunningham Park Court, SE. June 6, 3:34 p.m. A female subject was bit on the nose by a dog. The dog was placed in 10-day quarantine.

Arrest - Grand Larceny - 400 Block Lewis Street, MW. June 6, 11:11 p.m. An officer was on patrol when he observed a male driver; he knew to have a revoked driving status in the state of Virginia, operating a motor vehicle. He attempted to conduct a traffic stop with the vehicle, however, the driver failed to stop. A short distance later the vehicle pulled into a driveway and the driver attempted to flee after the officer commanded him to stop. The driver was apprehended and upon searching the vehicle stolen credit cards were recovered. The 24-year-old male driver from Colin Lane NW, Vienna was arrested for grand larceny, resisting arrest, and driving on a revoked license. The driver was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Domestic Assault - Hillcrest Drive, SW. June 7, 2:59 p.m. A female subject came to Vienna Police Department to report a physical altercation with her son. The female subject stated her son assaulted her at her residence, but the officer did not observe any markings of an assault on the female subject. Officers made contact with the son at the residence. He stated he was assaulted by the female subject, however, no markings of an assault were observed by the officers. The female subject agreed to leave the residence. Both parties were advised of the warrant process and provided with information about counseling services.
