The thought of snow sends Northern Virginians into survival mode, discouraging the scheduling of mega-events. Yet, there are still fun activities, from ice skating at the Tysons Corner ice rink [charge] to the piano bar at Maplewood Grill in Vienna, and diverse events in between to keep adults and children entertained. There are service club meetings that feature speakers and lunch and library activities at Patrick Henry Library and Oakton Library for preschoolers.
The Barns of Wolf Trap presents performances by nationally-acclaimed and internationally-acclaimed artists. Throughout the year, the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department hosts Sunday night bingo to raise funds for equipment and public events.
And for the ever-hopeful snow-lovers, there is sledding when the snow falls and the schools close.
