Shepherd’s Center of McLean-Arlington-Falls Church Seeks Volunteers
The mission of the Shepherd’s Center is to give senior citizens free transportation to medical and therapy appointments, the pharmacy and grocery store. The Center is also recruiting volunteers willing to visit them in their homes and to make phone calls from time to time to let lonely seniors know they have not been forgotten. In many cases, volunteers are the only contacts some seniors have with anyone. No long term commitment is required and volunteers accept to take someone to a medical appointment, make a visit or call only when their schedule permits.

Nominations Sought for Volunteer Service Awards
Volunteer Fairfax invites nominations for 24th Annual Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards, calling all community representatives whose mission relies on volunteer power, to nominate volunteers who have provided outstanding service to your organization. Nominations are open through Feb. 4. Details are available at www.volunteerfairfax.org. Nominees will be honored at the 2016 Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards breakfast on Friday, April 8 at the Waterford at Springfield.
