Springfield Man Receives National Award from the American College of Physicians

Jack Ginsburg, MPE, of West Springfield, has been awarded the Distinguished Contribution by National or Chapter Staff Award from the American College of Physicians (ACP), the national organization of internists. The award will be presented at ACP’s annual Convocation ceremony on Thursday, May 5, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, in Washington D.C.

The Distinguished Contribution by ACP National or Chapter Staff Award is awarded to a former or retired national or chapter staff member of the American College of Physicians for distinguished contributions to ACP.

Ginsburg served as Director of ACP’s Department of Health Policy Analysis and Research from 1998 to 2013. During this time, he also served on ACP’s Health and Public Policy Committee. In this position, he was instrumental in the development and implementation of public policy positions for ACP. He also managed his department in analyzing public policy issues, worked with various ACP committees and the college leadership in formulating policy, prepared written policy papers, drafted testimony and statements to Congress and other public/private entities that influence public policy and responded to proposed federal rules and regulations.

He served as staff liaison to the American Medical Association (AMA), including staffing the AMA Internal Medicine Section Council, Group of Four, and Campaign Manager for Election of ACP Members to AMA Elective Offices.
