Clifton residents Michael, Susan and Zachary Kehoe are raising an assistance dog-in-training for Canine Companions for Independence.
Puppy Lennon is a lab/golden retriever cross who will be trained to know over 40 advanced commands and be matched with a person with disabilities.
Lennon will learn basic commands and socialization skills. He will be exposed to any and all types of surroundings.
Canine Companions for Independence is a provider of trained assistance dogs with six regional training centers across the country. It provides assistance dogs to children and adults with disabilities. There is no charge for the dog, its training and on-going follow-up services.
