Arlington Brief: Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

The Metro Transit Police Department arrested a suspected bank robber during the evening of Jan. 8. The suspect, a 45-year-old man, was taken as he exited the Eastern Market Metro station. He was charged with bank robbery and attempted bank robbery and is currently being held pending extradition.

Police heard of an attempted robbery at Wells Fargo on Dec. 30, 2015, at 4:48 pm. According to police reports, the suspect robbed the Wells Fargo in the 1300 block of N. Wilson Boulevard, by passing a note to the teller. However, police reported, he then became frustrated and fled on foot.

Another robbery took place on Jan. 7, at 10:10 a.m., at the Wells Fargo in the 1400 block of S. Fern Street. A police report said the man once again handed the bank’s teller a note, but that this time he received money before he left. Police arrested the man a little over 24 hours after the second robbery.
