Veteran to Share His Story as POW in Germany
Chapter 227, Vietnam Veterans of America Inc., invites all veterans, friends, and the general public to attend the Jan. 21, chapter meeting at Neighbor’s Restaurant, 262D Cedar Lane, Cedar Lane Shopping Center, Vienna, Virginia, at

The membership serves as a “Fire Support Base” for veterans who are seeking closure on their Tour of Duty and a renewal of their Vietnam camaraderie. The chapter supports veteran’s activities and non-veteran community projects.
Reduce Your Stress Through Tai Chi
Vienna Branch of AAUW will host “Reduce Your Stress Through Tai Chi” on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. until noon at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Rd, Oakton. This informational demonstration will be led by two members of a Tai Chi class that is sponsored by the Shepherd Center of Oakton-Vienna. Members and guests, who come wearing workout shoes, will be able to practice Tai Chi along with the instructors. Emphasis will be placed on the value of exercise in keeping our hearts healthy and our minds stress free. This demonstration is all about “Health and Wellness.” The program is open to the public and light refreshments will be served. Ayr Hill Garden Club to Meet Jan. 25
The Ayr Hill Garden Club will meet on Monday, Jan. 25, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2589 Chain Bridge Road, Vienna. Complimentary refreshments will be provided at 12:45 p.m. followed by the 1 p.m. program. Guests are encouraged to attend.
Guest Speaker: Pam Powers, Consulting Rosarian, Apprentice Horticultural Judge, President, Arlington Rose Foundation, will illustrate the pleasures and problems of raising roses in the Washington, D.C. area. She has grown roses for 25 years and is an award winning exhibitor.
Established in 1929, the Ayr Hill Garden Club's (AHGC) motto is civic gardening. The Club maintains six gardens of various sizes in the Town of Vienna, and has contributed to projects throughout Fairfax County over its 86 year history.
