The Vienna Business Association installed its 2016 Board of Directors, headed by chairman Mary Kay Claus, on Feb. 12, at the association’s luncheon meeting. Incoming chair for 2017 is George Creed.
Town of Vienna mayor Laurie DiRocco inducted the new officers. The office of U.S. Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-11) was represented by Alex Robbins. Although Rep. Connolly was out of the country for the meeting, he had entered into the Congressional Record the recording of the new board of directors. Each board member received a copy of the record.
Chairman Claus gave the VBA State of the Union remarks.
The Vienna Business Association was founded three-and-a-half years ago as a voice for Vienna’s business community and catalyst for community events. Since its formation, VBA has organized and hosted the annual Vienna Halloween Parade, Oktoberfest and First Night Vienna celebration, events that are free to the public. It holds both breakfast and luncheon meetings and runs a networking breakfast group that meets twice a month. Members sponsor social mixers, as well.
On April 7, VBA holds its inaugural awards gala, open to the community.
