Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man believed to be responsible for an attempted abduction that occurred on Thursday, Aug. 27.

Around 11:37 a.m. a woman was walking near the Pinewood South apartments in the 4200 block of Buckman Road. A 47-year-old woman was approached by a man who grabbed her and attempted to drag her to a vehicle. The victim resisted and was assisted by a good Samaritan who was driving by. The suspect fled in a silver-colored 4-door-sedan. The victim did not require medical attention.

The suspect was described as black, in his late 20s to early 30s, about 6 feet tall, with a thin build and medium-length black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, gray pants and sneakers. Detectives would also like to speak with the passerby who assisted the victim.
