Srikant Sastry, National Managing principal of Advisory Services for Grant Thornton LLP, was named the 2015 Business Leader of the Year as the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce honored the best of businesses across the city Oct. 21 at the George Washington Masonic Memorial.
The awards ceremony, presented by Eagle Bank, recognized businesses in several categories: Association/Non-Profit Business of the Year (tie) — Carpenter’s Shelter, Offender Aid and Restoration; Rising Star Business of the Year — Frolick Dogs, LLC; Small Business of the Year — Skyline Wellness; Medium Business of the Year — DiMuro Ginsberg, PC; Large Business of the Year — Stratford University, Alexandria Campus; Overall Business of the Year — Renner and Company, CPA, PC.
More than 200 people turned out for the awards ceremony, which was followed by a reception that featured food from several of chef Cathal Armstrong’s restaurants including Restaurant Eve, Society Fair, Eamonn's A Dublin Chipper and Club PX Lounge. Dessert was provided by Alexandria Cupcake.
