Nov. 1 Violin Concert for Wegener’s

South Lakes High School junior Kajal Chandrabhatla created the WACKY Foundation to benefit research on pediatric Wegener’s Granulomatosis.

Chandrabhatla has invited a Wegener’s survivor to perform a violin concert to raise awareness for the cause. The concert is scheduled for Sunday, Nov 1 at 3 p.m. at the Reston Community Center at Lake Anne.

Wegener’s is an autoimmune disease that is not curable. It is very rare in children so is often misdiagnosed, according to Chandrabhatla.

Diagnosis often comes after organ failure and emergency hospitalization, and is managed with several rounds of chemotherapy and immunosuppressive drugs.

Davelle Clothiers Trade In/Trade Up Sale to Benefit Goodwill

Davelle Clothiers, a high quality, fine men’s custom clothing store in Reston, is partnering with Goodwill of Greater Washington (Goodwill) on its 19th Annual Trade In/Trade Up Sale.

Between Oct. 15 and Nov. 1, when anyone trades in an old suit at Davelle, the donated suit and five percent of the proceeds from the sale of a new suit will be given to Goodwill.
