Grand Larceny - 600 Block Plum St., SW, between July 1 at 12:01 a.m. and Oct. 8 at 11:17 a.m. A resident reported that over the past several months, several items to include money and jewelry had gone missing from her residence. This case is being investigated.

Noise Complaint - Bey Lounge, 303 Mill St., NE, Oct. 3, 12:18 a.m. Officer Post responded to the Bey Lounge after receiving a complaint of loud music emanating from the business. She spoke with an employee who informed her he would turn the music down.

Natural Death - 400 Block Holmes Drive, NW, Oct. 3, 2 a.m. The relative of an elderly resident found her aunt deceased in her bed. A detective will follow up with this case.

Arrest – Driving While Intoxicated, 300 Block Maple Ave., West, Oct. 3, 3:23 a.m. Officer Reedy was on patrol when he observed the driver of a vehicle commit a traffic offense. As a result of that offense he conducted a traffic stop. Upon his interaction with the driver he detected the signs of possible impairment. After failing to complete a series of field sobriety tests he arrested the 28 year old man from Vienna for Driving While Intoxicated. The man was transported to the Vienna Police Station where he was given the opportunity to provide a sample of his breath for analysis. After the analysis he was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and held on a $2,000.00 bond.

Assist Fire/EMS - Exxon Gas Station, 395 Maple Ave., East, Oct. 3, 3:31 p.m. Officer Hylinski responded to the area to assist with traffic control while Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel attended to a large amount of gasoline that had spilled onto the ground.

Trespassing - Whole Foods, 143 Maple Ave., East, Oct. 3, 6:32 p.m. An employee informed a police officer about the female that continually enters the business and sits at the table without making any purchases. PFC Kiley informed the woman she was no longer permitted in the business. Although she was visibly upset she agreed to leave.

Noise Violation - Bey Lounge, 303 Mill St., NE, Oct. 4, 12:11 a.m. Officer Post responded to the Bey Lounge after receiving a complaint of loud music emanating from the business. She spoke with an employee who informed her he would turn the speakers to the rear of the business off in an attempt to resolve the matter.

Residential Alarm - 600 Block McKinley St., NE, Oct. 04, 2:14 a.m. A resident reported his residential alarm had been activated. He stated when he turned the alarm off he heard a loud boom sound coming from the ground floor of the residence. PFC Kiley and Officer Lyons searched the residence and found nothing appeared out of place and no signs of forced entry were visible.

Alcohol Violation - Glyndon Street at Ayr Hill Avenue, NE, Oct. 4, 6:20 a.m. MPO Seitz responded to the area after receiving a report of a vehicle stopped in the roadway. Upon approaching the vehicle he located the juvenile driver asleep at the wheel with the ignition off. After speaking with the driver he detected the signs of possible impairment. MPO Seitz contacted the juvenile’s parents who responded to the area and took their son and vehicle home. This case is being investigated.

Suspicious Event - Maple Avenue at East Street, East, Oct. 4, 7:45 a.m. A resident reported she was making a right turn from Branch Road onto Maple Avenue and passed a black mini-van that was blocking her vehicle. She stated after she entered onto Maple Avenue she believed the driver of the mini-van threw something at her vehicle. Officer Hylinski inspected her vehicle and found no damage.

Found Property, Church Street at Mill Street, NE, Oct. 4, 5:45 p.m. An attendee of the Octoberfest Celebration turned in an iPhone she found at the event. The iPhone will be held at the Vienna Police Station in the event the owner is identified.

Destruction of Property - 200 Block Pleasant St., SW, between Oct. 04 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. A resident reported her mailbox had been knocked from its post.

Lost Property - 500 Block Valley Drive, SE, Oct. 5 5:56 p.m. A resident reported while walking to a pharmacy she lost her prescription.

Arrest – Driving While Intoxicated/Possession of Marijuana, Park Street at Locust Street, SE, Oct. 5, 10:50 p.m. MPO Smith was on patrol when he observed the driver of a vehicle commit a traffic offense. As a result of that offense he conducted a traffic stop. Upon his interaction with the driver he detected the signs of possible impairment. After failing to complete a series of field sobriety tests he arrested the 52 year old man from Tapawingo Road, SW in Vienna for Driving While Intoxicated. While preparing his vehicle to be towed for safe keeping he located a measurable amount of marijuana. The man was transported to the Vienna Police Station where he was given the opportunity to provide a sample of his breath for analysis. After the analysis he was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana.

Arrest – Alcohol Violation, Kingsley Road at Ware Street, SW, Oct. 6, 1:27 a.m. Officer Herrera was on patrol when he observed the occupant of a vehicle drinking what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage. As a result of that activity he conducted a traffic stop. After speaking with the passenger he discovered an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. The 28 year old man from Valentino Drive in Oakton, Virginia was issued a summons for Possession of an Open Container in a Vehicle and released.

Open Door - Marco Polo Restaurant, 245 Maple Ave., West, Oct. 6 3:02 a.m. Officer Herrera was in the area conducting a business check when he discovered an unsecured door to the business. The inside of the building was checked and although signs of squatting were evident, entry into the restaurant had not occurred.

Narcotics Violation - Cedar Lane School, 101 Cedar Lane, SW, Oct. 6, 12:32 p.m. An employee reported a student had been found outside the school smoking using a Vaporizing Pen. The student was taken inside the school and was found to be in possession of marijuana. This case is being investigated.

Suspicious Event - 200 Block Cedar Lane, SE, between Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 7 at 8:20 a.m. A resident returned to her vehicle to find feces had been smeared on the door handle.

Arrest – Narcotics Violation, Locust Street at Glyndon Street, SE, Oct. 6, 11:18 p.m. Officer Herrera was on patrol in the area when he observed the occupants of two vehicles exhibiting suspicious behavior. Officer Herrera approached the vehicles and after speaking with the occupants he located a measurable amount of marijuana. Officer Herrera issued a 20-year old man from Park Terrace Court, SE in Vienna a summons for Possession of Marijuana. He was released after signing the summons.

Animal Case – Quarantine - The Hope Center, 140 Park St., SE, Oct. 7, 6 a.m. An employee reported a 10 year old cat named “Angelo” was taken to the Hope Center by its owner after becoming very ill. The employee stated that while Angelo was being transported he bit his owner. Due to his poor health, Angelo was euthanized. ACO Barker transported him to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter where he was to be tested for Rabies.

Arrest – Drunk in Public - 500 Block Kingsley Road, SW, Oct. 8, 1:09 a.m. A resident stated an unknown black male was on his front porch, knocking on his door. Officer Post responded and found the black male still on the porch. After speaking him she determined he was intoxicated. The 33 year old man from Hartfield Avenue in Suitland, Maryland was arrested for Drunk in Public and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was to be held

until he was sober.

Domestic Dispute - Lynn Street, SW, Oct. 8, 3:58 p.m. A resident reported he and his son had been involved in a heated argument that culminated when the son punched a hole in a wall. Although the wall was damaged no physical altercation had occurred.

Crashes

200 Block Maple Ave., West, Oct. 2, 4:52 p.m. The driver of the first vehicle was attempting to exit a parking lot and caused a collision with two other vehicles. The driver of the first vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Stop when Entering a Highway.

Maple Avenue at Lewis Street, NW, Oct. 3, 10:19 a.m. The driver of a vehicle was traveling westbound on Maple Avenue, NW. The driver of the second vehicle was attempting to cross Maple Avenue at Lewis Street, NW and collided with the first vehicle.

200 Block Maple Ave., Oct. 3, 1:52 p.m. The driver of the first vehicle was attempting to enter a parking lot and collided with a second vehicle. The driver of the first vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.

300 Block Nutley St., NW, Oct. 3, 7:30 p.m. A resident discovered her vehicle had been struck by an unknown vehicle.

Cottage Street near Locust Street, SW, Oct. 5, 4:59 p.m. The drivers of two vehicles were traveling southbound on Cottage Street, SW in the same lane of travel. The driver of the first vehicle stopped and attempted to back into a parking space and collided with the second vehicle. The driver of the first vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.

Tapawingo Road at Meadow Lane, SW, Oct. 6, 6:42 a.m. The driver of a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Tapawingo Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Meadow Lane, SW and struck a bicyclist traveling in the intersection. The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital for injuries suffered in the crash. The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Yield the Right of Way.

Lawyers Road near Maple Avenue, East, Oct. 6, 8:32 a.m. The driver of a vehicle was traveling northbound on Lawyers Road and struck a lamppost. The driver did not stop.

Nutley Street at Tapawingo Road, SW, Oct. 6, 4:45 p.m. The operator of a motorcycle was traveling southbound on Nutley Street, SW. The motorcyclist attempted to stop for the red traffic signal at Tapawingo Road, SW and lost control, falling off her motorcycle. She was transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Park Street at Locust Street, SE, Oct. 6, 5:52 p.m. The driver of a vehicle was traveling northbound on Park Street, SE approaching the pedestrian crossing near Locust Street, SE and struck a bicyclist in the cross walk. The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Cross Walk.

Maple Avenue at East Street, SE, Oct. 7, 8:28 p.m. The driver of the first vehicle was traveling southbound on East Street and entered the intersection with Maple Avenue, SE. The driver of the second vehicle was traveling eastbound on Maple Avenue and disregarded the red traffic signal, entered the intersection and collided with the first vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Obey a Traffic Signal.

Panera Bread, 136 Maple Ave., West, Oct. 8, 4:53 p.m. The owner of a legally parked vehicle stated the driver of a second vehicle was backing from a parking space and collided with her vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, described as a white female with blonde hair, approximately 16 years of age, did not stop to exchange information.

Church Street at Mill Street, NE, Oct. 8, 5:20 p.m. The drivers of two vehicles were traveling westbound on Church Street, NE in the same lane of travel. As the two drivers approached the Stop Sign at Mill Street, NE the driver of the second vehicle attempted to pass the first vehicle to make a right turn onto Mill Street, NE and struck the first vehicle.

Park Street near Locust Street, Oct. 8, 9:05 p.m. The driver of the first vehicle was traveling southbound on Park Street approaching the intersection with Locust Street, SE. The driver of the second vehicle was traveling westbound on Locust Street and attempted to make a left turn to travel southbound on Park Street, SE and collided with the first vehicle, which had already entered the intersection. The driver of the second vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.
