To the Editor:
I read with interest “Cycling through Solutions” in the Oct. 1 edition. It is so typical of this city to have to devise a “Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan” to “fix” what you call a “problem” with the Mount Vernon Trail running through Old Town. I’m a cyclist. I consider myself a vehicle according to the Virginia Motor Vehicle code. Therefore I obey traffic signals and stop signs and yield to pedestrians where necessary. Fellow cyclists, is it that difficult to do?
Oh, and I don’t need painted bike lanes either to enjoy my sport.
