Herndon High School’s sister robotics team, Epsilon Delta Too, was one of the top finishers at the FIRST Tech Challenge Virginia Championship held in Richmond on Saturday, Feb. 28. Coach Robert Simmons, who has been with the team for three years, said that junior Kenneth Lin, the team’s leader, wanted the team to be a model team in the area. Simmons said that in addition to working on all aspects of the team’s robot, Lin also did outreach, helped other schools by mentoring them in robotics and cultivated a prominent role in the FTC.

The FIRST Tech Challenge Virginia Championship brought 52 middle and high school robotics teams from Virginia. The robots each team designed and built are tested to complete a series of challenges, such as gathering plastic balls and moving them into goals.
