Mount Vernon teen Will Shute, far right, delivers food donated by Mount Vernon area residents to UCM’s Food Pantry on Fordson Road. The annual Mount Vernon “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” Food Drive collected more than 2,500 pounds of food and more than $2,595 to stock the UCM Food Pantry for summer. Saint Luke’s Church hosts the annual food drive, with a teen parishioner taking the lead as coordinator. Shute is a rising junior at West Potomac High School and a Life Scout with Saint Luke's Boy Scout Troop 654.
