Work is underway to transform Northern Virginia's I-66. Under the proposed plan, I-66 would be improved to provide:
Three regular lanes in each direction
Two express lanes in each direction
High-frequency bus service with predictable travel times
Direct access between the express lanes and new or expanded commuter lots
The Virginia Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), will host public information meetings on plans to transform I-66 between U.S. Route 15 in Haymarket and I-495/Capital Beltway.
Preliminary plans and a tentative project schedule will be available for review and public comment at the meetings. Right-of-way, environmental and civil rights information will also be available.
All meeting times are 6-8:30 p.m.. A brief presentation will begin at 7 p.m. Visit http://transform66.org for more.
