The County Board has appointed Noah Simon as chair of its Fire Station No. 8 Task Force. The task force is charged with reviewing viable sites for a replacement Fire Station 8 (currently located at Lee Highway and North Culpepper Street).
Simon is an Arlington resident who served on the School Board in 2013-2014. He is a former Capitol Hill staffer and previously worked for the American Red Cross. The board appointed 11 other residents to the task force:

Marguerite Gooden -- John M. Langston Civic Association
Rodney Turner – John M. Langston Civic Association
Anne Wilson - Donaldson Run Civic Association
Frank McDermott -- Bellevue Forest Civic Association
Richard Samp – Old Glebe Civic Association
Jim Pebley – Emergency Preparedness Advisory Commission
Patrick Bogenberger – Fiscal Affairs Advisory Commission
James Schroll – Planning Commission
Terry Prell – Arlington Civic Federation
The task force will make its report to the County Board in May 2016.
