— Friends and family and T.C. Williams High School alumni gathered in the high school for a reception and presentation honoring longtime ACPS school nurse Virginia Smith on Saturday afternoon, May 10. Fondly remembered as “Miz Virginia,” she served as an ACPS school nurse from 1960 until her retirement in 1990.

In her memory, alumni from the TC classes of 1973 and 1972, the ’71 Original Titans and former faculty raised donations to purchase an exam table and stool for the clinic at the new high school. Vicki Warren ’73 unveiled a plaque honoring the late school nurse and presented it to her daughter Renee Smith Cardone to be placed in the examining room of the clinic above the new examining table.
