Reston National Golf Course to Host Annual Junior Golf Day Saturday, May 10

Free Admission, Contests, Prizes, Inflatable Dinosaur ‘Golfzilla’ Among Highlights

(VIENNA, VA) – Reston National Golf Course – managed by Billy Casper Golf (BCG), the largest owner-operator of golf courses, country clubs and resorts in the U.S. – will host its annual Junior Golf Day on Saturday, May 10 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Attendees will enjoy free admission, instructional clinics conducted by PGA Professionals, contests and prizes, and even the chance to witness “Golfzilla,” a 19-foot tall inflatable dinosaur. Golfers can demo the latest Nike Golf clubs on Reston National’s driving range.

“We will create a fun, fair-like atmosphere for the community to enjoy,” says Shaun Strand, Director of Instruction at the Nike Golf Academy at Reston National. “Juniors of all ability levels will take delight in learning new skills during the clinics.”

Last year more than 60 juniors attended, and event organizers anticipate that number to double this year.

Conveniently located 30 minutes west of Washington DC, Reston National is among Northern Virginia’s favorite classic, 18-hole layouts. The par-71, Ed Ault design is nestled among mature trees and rolling terrain. At 6,870 yards with wide fairways and receptive greens, Reston National provides memorable experiences time and again to both high and low handicappers.

Home to the Nike Golf Learning Center, Reston National is a popular place to practice. Its golfer development programs for amateurs and juniors are taught by a highly trained staff. Use of video analysis as well as short-game and on-course instruction combine to improve skills and scores.
