Dave Tremaine, a former principal at Hayfield Secondary School, died June 16. Tremaine recently retired from his position as principal at Hayfield, where he has worked since 2010.
“Please know that Dave was extremely proud of Hayfield Secondary School, the faculty and staff and especially Hayfield students. All of us who knew Dave are thankful for his guiding spirit. He was dedicated to his family and friends and he was a dedicated educator. The fact that Dave worked nearly until his death demonstrates how devoted he was to the Hayfield community,” Tracey Phillips, interim principal of Hayfield, wrote in an email to parents and students on Monday.
A candlelight vigil was held for Tremaine at Hayfield on June 16. A Facebook group, “Hayfield Loves Mr. Tremaine,” was flooded with posts from students and the Hayfield community celebrating Tremaine’s life.
