On June 4, Churchill Road first graders celebrated the culmination of their language arts program at their annual Reading Rodeo. The students participated in western themed read alouds and activities. Students created vests themed around their favorite book and a realistic fiction “boxed set” that highlighted the character and stories they created. They shared both their book reports and writing from throughout the year with parents, teachers and classmates. After the morning’s events, first graders and their guests enjoyed a family picnic, outdoor games and some good old-fashioned square dancing.
