The Forest Service is under intense pressure from the oil and gas industry to lift the ban on fracking on the George Washington National Forest. The GW is the largest national forest in the east, and it's where many of us go to get away and enjoy the wildlife, serenity and scenic views. Fracking is a disruptive, polluting process that would take away those experiences, as well as threaten the drinking water supply for 4.5 million people in the DC metro area. I want my kids to be able to hike, camp, and enjoy the forest for years to come. We cannot allow fracking in our national forests.
