David Allan Buffmire, 59, of Kents Store, Va. died April 6, 2014 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville of complications from pneumonia and cancer. David grew up in Hollin Hills and graduated from Groveton High School in Mount Vernon. He went on to become well known as a builder, cabinet-maker and accomplished musician before relocating to Fluvanna County, Va. in February 2002. There he continued cabinet making, building and flying model airplane gliders, playing in a band and raising his dogs. David is survived by his wife of 30 years, Vicki; stepson Michael Crowe and grandchildren, Maya, Michael and Payton Crowe. A memorial service will be held at Hill and Wood Funeral Home in Charlottesville, May 3, 2014 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in David Buffmire’s name to the Fender Music Foundation (www.fendermusicfoundation.org) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
