All my memories of former Councilwoman Beverly Beidler seem to involve motion. I remember how joyfully she moved and how happy she was dancing the Virginia Reel during Marion's Music Hall, a fundraiser to help get Marion Van Landingham elected. I also remember the triumphant air with which she walked past the Old Dominion Boat Club to look at the river, opening up the path for all the rest of us taxpayers to follow.
"Whenever I think of the fight for women's rights in Alexandria, I think of Bev Beidler," said Boyd Walker. Bev worked very hard to increase the turnout for elections in Alexandria.
Beverly's family will receive family and friends on Saturday, April 26, 3 p.m., at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home on Braddock Road, Alexandria. A memorial service will take place at 4 p.m.
