The Artists’ Atelier has a new website showcasing the artwork of its resident artists. The new site, at http://gfatelier.fineartstudioonline.com, shows visitors images of available art, biographies and contact information for each artist, a calendar of upcoming events, and a short history lesson on how the Atelier came to be.
“The artwork shown on the site is just a sampling of what the artists in this dynamic group create,” said Jill Banks, one of the Atelier’s founding members who has taken the lead in developing the site. “Still, there’s no doubt looking at it online that if you’re interested in collecting or being inspired, this should be one of your regular stops.”
The Atelier, located at 1144 Walker Road, Suite G, just behind Dante’s Restaurant in Great Falls, is home to 15 artists, including painters, photographers, mixed media artists and a fiber artist. The airy loft space is an inviting place to witness creativity first hand, chat with the artists about their process and inspiration, and even to find that special piece of art to take home with you. It’s open every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon from noon-4 p.m., anytime there’s an artist there working, or by special appointment.
In addition to working artist studio spaces, the Atelier hosts a full calendar of shows throughout the year in its exhibit space. The current show is Contrasts, featuring the work of two of the Atelier’s newest residents, Carol Howard and Lisa Tureson, up through the month of September. Next month, the entire Atelier will gear up for the Great Falls Studios 10th Anniversary Studio Tour, being held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The space will be overflowing with new work, so mark your calendars now and plan to visit.
Visitors to the site may also easily subscribe to an email newsletter—to keep informed of other major art events taking place in the Atelier.
The Atelier is a project of the Great Falls Foundation for the Arts, a nonprofit group founded in 2007 to expand opportunities for art education, expression and professional development in the Great Falls community.
