Volunteers and swimmers from the Potomac Marlins gathered at the Lee District Recreation Center in their “Swim Pink” attire for their fundraiser meet, the PVS October Open Saturday, Oct. 19. The Potomac Marlins conduct this annual fundraiser to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, a nonprofit working to put an end to breast cancer.
This year, Speedo supported the annual fundraiser by providing shirts for the Marlins Coaches and donating caps to the event winners of the October Open.
The Marlins raised $3,150 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In addition to the Breast Cancer Awareness fund, the Marlins also support the Fairfax County Special Olympics State Qualifying swim meet held at George Mason University in April.
