Throughout the summer the Rosslyn Business Improvement District (BID) will be showing a free movie every Friday night at dusk for its annual outdoor film festival. Each year the type of movies selected are based on a specific theme. This year’s theme is, according Rosslyn BID Communications Director Lisa Rabasca, “summer school” due to the fact that “all the movies are about high school.”
This Friday’s movie will be “Clueless,” which is about “a popular high school girl who spends her days playing match-maker, helping her friends with fashion choices, and looking for a boyfriend.”
There is no admission charge. Rabasca says that the festival is free because it is “one of the many services the BID provides to make Rosslyn a community where people can live, work, and play.” Parking is $3 after 6 p.m. at Atlantic Parking Garage on Moore Street next to Continental. Those watching the movie are encouraged to arrive for pre-show games and prizes. The festival will be held at Gateway Park located at 1300 Lee Hwy. at the base of the Key Bridge. See http://www.rosslynva.org/play/calendar/film-festival for specific show times for each week.
