Aun Kei Hong of Centreville graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science degree and a master of science degree in computer engineering from RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering in the winter 2012-13 quarter.

Thoa Jennifer M. Tran, of Centreville, received the Dr. Clyde S. & Pauline F. Stine Scholarship from Millersville University.

Daniel Deskin Nicoll graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a B.A. in history. A graduate of Bishop Ireton High School, he is the son of Scott and Colleen Nicoll of Centreville.

Allison Druffel has been named to the 2013 dean's list at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Va.

Ryan C. Thompson graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in international affairs and German from the University of Mary Washington. He received departmental honors in German.

Grace M. Remington, a freshman Chemical Engineering-Paper Science major from Clifton, received the Georgia-Pacific Corporation Award from Miami University’s Chemical Engineering-Paper Science department.

Yun Park was named to the dean's list at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, for the spring 2013 semester. Park studied psychology.

Carrie Hill was named to the dean’s list at Bob Jones University. Carrie is a freshman studying English.

Retired Fairfax County teacher Linda Boone of Clifton, received a Distinguished Alumni Award from Butler University College of Education on May 10 in Indianapolis. She was one of five award winners nominated by fellow education alumni in recognition of their professional achievements.

Boone retired in 2010 after teaching second and third graders for 18 years in the Fairfax County Public Schools, Centreville. She often mentored fellow teachers during her career and was honored as Wal-Mart Fairfax County Teacher of the Year 2001-2002. She previously taught in Warren Township, Indianapolis (1970-1976) and has served on the College of Education’s Board of Visitors (2007-2012). She met her future husband Canfield “Buddy” Boone ’71 at Butler; both majored in education. He was serving as a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel in the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, when he was killed during the terrorist attack on the building. Linda and her family established a memorial scholarship in his honor to benefit a Butler education student. She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Butler in 1970, as well as a master’s degree in education in 1975. Boone also holds a Master’s of Library Science from Catholic University.

Jarrod Austin Branch graduated May 4 from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. Branch, a member of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets, earned a bachelor of arts in criminal justice. He has also been named to the Spring semester dean's list.
