Three Suspects Arrested, Charged in Serial Burglaries
On Monday, May 13, detectives identified and arrested three suspects believed to be responsible for a recent series of residential burglaries in Fairfax County, the Town of Vienna, and in the City of Falls Church.
Working with information provided by the Prince George County Police Department in Maryland, Fairfax County detectives, along with detectives from the Town of Vienna Police Department and the City of Falls Church Police Department, developed potential suspects in the series of burglaries.
While responding to four reports of burglaries in the McLean area on Monday, May 13, detectives spotted the suspect vehicle, a 2006 silver Ford Explorer, unoccupied. Surveillance was set up on that vehicle and when the suspects returned to it, they were apprehended. They were arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and they were each charged with four counts of burglary, two counts of grand larceny, two counts of larceny for resale and possession of burglarious tools.
The burglaries on Monday, May 13 took place on Daleview Drive, Laurelwood Drive, Virginia Lane and on Alvord Street.
Detectives have linked these suspects to a larger series of burglaries within Fairfax County, as well as cases in the Town of Vienna and in the City of Falls Church. Other cases are also being evaluated to determine if they are connected.
Items stolen during the burglaries included jewelry, electronics, handbags, silverware and cash. Detectives have recovered some of the stolen property and will attempt to reunite it with its rightful owners.
The investigation continues and additional charges are anticipated.
Fairfax County Police would like to thank the police departments in Prince George’s County, Maryland, the Town of Vienna and in the City of Falls Church for their great effort and cooperation in this serial burglary case.
