On Saturday, March 16, the Churchill Road Elementary School’s Science Olympiad Teams took both first and second place at the Regional Tournament at Stone Middle School in Centreville. Twenty-one teams from 10 area elementary and 11 middle schools participated at this tournament. The Churchill Road Blue Team placed first and the White Team came in second. CRS students won nine of the 23 events, and placed either second or third in another 10. The fifth and sixth grade students have been working hard all year under the direction of their mentors, CRS fifth grade teacher Jennifer Ezzell and parent Natasha Swarup. The students are looking forward to continued success at the state tournament at Virginia Tech later in April.
