Arlington — The Junior League of Northern Virginia named its board of directors for the 2013-2014 year. Arlington residents on the board include: Katie Smith is treasurer; Rebecca Goodhart is membership council director; and Amanda Richardson is nominating committee chair.
The league’s community projects for 2013-2014 include the debut of its American Girl Doll Fashion Show scheduled for the spring, a Governor’s Ball celebrating women’s suffrage, 13th Annual The Enchanted Forest, empowerment projects with children living in local area homeless shelters, Back-to-School Health Fairs for uninsured children, Kids in the Kitchen anti-obesity program, a grants program supporting local community projects, and the continuation of its strategic partnership with The Children’s Science Center.
David Scalzitti, PT, PhD, OCS, has been named a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Applied Health Sciences.
