Becky's Pet Care won the Business of the Year title from the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. The Business of the Year award is a national award presented to a member, who has demonstrated outstanding business practices and vision in maintaining and growing their business. The rigorous application process includes a comprehensive evaluation of the member's commitment to the profession, management philosophy, community involvement and client satisfaction.
The NAPPS mission is to promote the value of pet sitting to the public and advocate the welfare of animals. The 14-year-old business has sought to uphold the same values since it’s establishment.
Becky O'Neil said the award reflects the hard work invested not only to provide outstanding pet care, but also to develop a great business. First, O’Neil said, the business takes care of its employees by providing benefits, an extensive paid training program, free Pet First Aid and CPR classes and competitive pay. Then the business ensures outstanding pet care through organized processes and procedures, rehearsed backup and emergency plans, and verified return home phone calls, quality checks and high quality of care standards.
This award is added to a number of recognitions including Angie's List Super Service Award, The Washington's Best of Pet Care list, Northern Virginia Magazine's Reader's Choice Award and the Community Business Partnership Hall of Fame.
