David Shoemaker Cammack, 85 of Alexandria, died peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2013. Born on Dec. 4, 1927 in Washington D. C., he was the son of John Edmund Cammack and Martha Louise Newman Cammack. He is predeceased by his brothers John and William and is survived by his brothers Thomas and Robert as well as 10 nieces and nephews and 16 grand nieces and grand nephews.
Known as a leading authority of the life of Preston Tucker and the Tucker Automobile Corporation, David spent the last 40 years collecting Tucker cars, parts and memorabilia. His Tucker collection will be donated to the AACA Museum in Hershey Pennsylvania. A Memorial Mass was celebrated on April 18, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Dennis Kleinmann as the celebrant. Interment will be private.
