A 16-year-old from Vienna, Charlotte Heffelmire, raised and donated $5,000 to Chinese orphanages while in the country over spring break.
Charlotte visited several Chinese orphanages and made the donation across four of them, so as to lessen the odds of the money being wasted, wrote her father, Eric Heffelmire in an email to The Connection on Monday, April 8.
