Don Quixote

Virginia Ballet Company and School will present the classic full-length Don Quixote Ballet. Performances are at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 27, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at the Northern Virginia Community College Annandale Campus in the Ernst Community Cultural Center Theater. Ticket prices for reserved seating are $30 for adults and $20 for children, students and seniors, plus a $3 fee per ticket. Tickets may be purchased online at www.virginiaballetcompany.org. Move Me

Bowen McCauley Dance presents the 4th Annual Move Me Festival on Saturday, April 27 from 2–5 p.m. at Kenmore Middle School in Arlington, with the support of The JBG Companies, honorary hosts Senator Barbara Favola and Delegate Patrick Hope, and master of ceremony WUSA9 evening anchor Anita Brikman.

Move Me is a free family-friendly celebration of the arts and culture, promoting healthy lifestyles through movement and the arts, and featuring performances and artistic activities by local arts partners. This year, the festival focuses on the need to “Get Active, Get Creative, Get Involved.” Participating arts partners will offer performances, demonstrations, and activities including Latin dance, clogging, theater workshops, orchestra performances, an instrument petting zoo, yoga, face painting, magic tricks, arts and crafts and more.

"Walk on the Wild Side"

Gallery Underground announces the award winners in the "Walk on the Wild Side" juried show to benefit the Arlington Animal Welfare League and Arlington Artists Alliance. Juried by DeAnna Boling, PSA, AFCF, the show features the furred, feathered and finned creatures of our world. The opening reception and fundraiser will be Friday, April 12 from 5-8 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Wine will be provided by our partner, the Washington Wine Academy. The show runs April 8 through May 4.

Winners are: Best in Show: "Web" by Susan Levin; First Place: "Hippocampus" by Tim Scheirte; Second Place: "Some Serious Play" by Maribeth Wright; and Third Place: "Early To Rise" by Jolly Sienda. In addition there were nine honorable mentions chosen.

Located in the Crystal City Shops at 2100 Crystal Drive, this visual arts venue is sponsored by the Arlington Artists Alliance, in partnership with the Crystal City Business Improvement District and Vornado/Charles E. Smith to showcase the work of established and emerging regional artists. More than 40 artists exhibit paintings, drawings, sculpture, glass work, ceramics and jewelry.
