Churchill Road second graders began the new school year by learning about the life cycle of the monarch butterfly. In the classroom they are raising monarch caterpillars they found in the school’s milkweed garden. Students in Cheryl Bamdad’s class are excited to observe a caterpillar getting ready to become a chrysalis. When the chrysalises become adult butterflies, the students will release them to begin their migration to Mexico.
