National Cherry Blossom Photo Contest. Cherry Blossoms are blooming inside and outside in Crystal City this spring with a new partnership between the Crystal City Business Improvement District, Vornado/Charles E. Smith, and FotoDC. Some 150 finalists and judges’ favorites from FotoDC's Second Annual National Cherry Blossom Photo Contest will be exhibited along Crystal City's interior walkways. Si Jae Byun: On Silk. 1 to 3 p.m. Meet AAC's Visiting Artist, Si Jae Byun, and visit her studio where you can see her latest work — paintings on silk. Ms. Byun comes to Arlington from Seoul, South Korea, where she earned a BFA in painting and an MFA in the New Form in Visual Art from Kookmin University. Air Force Cycling Classic. The weekend's cycling will begin on Saturday, June 9, with the Air Force Cycling Classic's Clarendon Cup, a criterium race that showcases the Clarendon businesses around the Clarendon Metro. The Men's Pro race will take place at noon and will again highlight some of the world's top cycling professionals who will battle to complete 100 laps on the short 1km course.

On Sunday, June 10, in partnership with the Crystal City Business improvement District (BID) cycling enthusiasts of all abilities will be able to ride in the Air Force Cycling Classic's Crystal Ride. Cyclists can enjoy the car-free 15km course for up to 3 hours. The course takes riders past the Air Force Memorial, the Pentagon and through Crystal City. Following this non-competitive ride, professionals will again entertain the region for a second day. Races move to Crystal City for the 6th year, showcasing the vibrant shops and restaurants of Crystal City. Saturday and Sunday's races will again be part of the prestigious USA Cycling's National Criterium Calendar. Air Force Cycling Challenge Crystal Ride. 7:30 a.m. Fees: $45/general entry; $35/discounted entry; $5 late fee. This is an amateur, non-competitive, participatory ride, open to cyclists of all abilities. All participants will start and end in Crystal City. The ride will be held on a closed, 15km circuit in and around the Pentagon, Crystal City and the Air Force Memorial. Participants can be challenged for up to 3.5 hours, either as a Standard Registrant, Corporate Challenge Team or as part of Team Sabre.
