The 25th Annual Argentina National Day Celebration will take place Saturday, May 19 from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Thomas Jefferson Community Theatre, 125 South Old Glebe Road, Arlington. Tickets are $20/advance; $30/door. Visit www.Tickeri.com.
The event highlights the cultural and social diversity of the Argentinean people, and showcases music, dance and food. This year's guest artists include: singer Miguel Dure (Camino Milongas), the U.S. debut of Tais and Son Ellas, and folk singer Daniel Bouchet.
Professional Tango exhibitions will be highlighted by the performance of Argentina's legendary Pampa Cortes in a trio with Gigi Jensen and Lizett Perelle. Also performing will be Victorio Menchi (Tango Fusion world tour artist), Cristian Perez and an array of D.C. area tango dancers, including the Carlos & Victoria Tango Show, Camilla Ng and Milonga with Sylvia Rodriguez.

The Tango in 2000. Argentine artists make their own interpretation of the genre, and rehabilitation to a current sound. Victorio Menghi, who presents three songs from "Tango Fusion World Tour," mix of electronic sound, symphony and melodies suburbanites, the Contemporary Tango.

On May 19, the Live Argentina Festival Dances & Folklore opens at 4 p.m. in the Thomas Jefferson Theatre. It’s celebrating the May Revolution of 1810 with an Argentine tango show for the whole family featuring tango, dances and folk music from Argentina and the rest of Latin America. The event will commemorate the Argentina National Day Revolution at the Thomas Jefferson Theatre in collaboration with the Embassy of Argentina, and honor leaders in politics, the arts, business and sports, and celebrate the Argentine Festival’s rich artistic annual programming.

Special Anniversary Activity “Soccer Shoot Contest” at Long Bridge Park on Friday, May 18 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Approximately a block from the Metro in Crystal City, Arlington, at 475 Long Bridge Dr. Arlington.
