Mount Vernon — A boater's education course that meets the boating education requirements for Virginia, Maryland and D.C. will be offered by Flotilla 25-8 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary on Oct. 20. The class is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 8592 Richmond Highway, Alexandria.
To legally operate a powerboat, proof of completion of an approved boating education course must be carried on the boat.
