Alexandria — Rebuilding Together Alexandria, a volunteer-based, non-profit organization that preserves affordable housing and revitalizes communities, has been selected as a Home Depot Foundation 2012 Community Impact Grant recipient. The $5,000 grant will be used to make much-needed home repairs to low-income residents in Alexandria, at no cost to those that are served.
Volunteers will install programmable thermostats and compact fluorescent light bulbs, repair door and window locks, replace smoke detectors, paint, seal air gaps throughout homes, replace broken appliances, repair leaking roofs, and much more.
