Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: Macaroni and cheese.
Q: What do you like to do away from baseball?
A: We fish a lot, too. It’s sort of a spring thing, really. As soon as baseball starts, before or after practice, depending on what time it is, we just fish.
Q: What’s your favorite part about playing on this team?
A: It’s got to be my teammates. A lot of these kids I’ve known since I was 10 years old. … Some sports I hear people complaining about coming out to practice. I like coming out to practice. I love baseball.
Q: Do you have a favorite baseball team or player?
A: I like the [Tampa Bay] Rays and I like [outfielder] Carl Crawford. I’m from Tampa. I’m not a bandwagon-raised guy. I liked them when they were the Devil Rays.
Q: You’re going to the University of South Carolina on a journalism scholarship. How did you get involved in journalism?
A: I took it my freshman year and I … was pretty good at it. I started reading more and more on the Internet every day when I was in there and I sort of fell in love with it. It’s exciting writing an article. I like it a lot. … I like opinions, mainly. I like to make jokes in my articles.
