Lee Continues Unbeaten Streak

On Oct. 2, the Lee High School varsity football team extended its unbeaten streak to five by defeating Annandale High School 33-23.

"It feels great [to be 5-0]," Head Coach Rob Everett said. "The kids have bought into what we’ve taught them."

Everett said that the defense was able to hold the Annandale offense in check for much of the game.

"The defense did a great job," Everett said. "They were much better than the score indicates. I was very pleased with their performance."

While the defense played their role, the Lancer’s three-man rushing attack proved to be the difference maker in the game.

Senior running back Idreis Augustus ran for 182 yards on 19 rushing attempts and quarterback Greg Lopez ran for 92 yards on six rushing attempts and threw for 140 passing yards.

Jazmier Williams also accounted for 91 yards of the Lancers 365 rushing yards.

The Lancers ended the game with 540 total yards of offense.

The Lancers next opponent is Lake Braddock Secondary School (4-2) who recently lost to Concorde District powerhouse Robinson Secondary School (5-0) 28-21 on Oct. 2.
