PNC Bank has named Rabih Eklari as manager of its new Green Branch location at 13490 Coppermine Rd. in Herndon. Prior to this appointment, he was assistant manager at the new Ashburn Green Branch Location. Sandra Kim has been named assistant manager. Carey Gutmann, business banking specialist, and Debra Everly, investment specialist, also are based at the Dulles Coppermine Road branch. The branch team provides complete financial services, including a range of checking accounts; loans and mortgages; investment services; insurance; and small business banking solutions to help consumers bank with ease and confidence.

The merchants of Franklin Farm Village Center in Herndon donated $1,000 to Oak Hill Elementary School as part of the shopping center's holiday promotion. The school received the donation thanks to Katie Karabulut of Herndon who listed Oak Hill Elementary as her favorite school on the entry form she filled out for a shopping spree drawing. Karabulut's daughter, Corinne, is a first grader at the school. In addition to a $1,000 donation to the school, Karabulut won a $500 shopping spree to Franklin Farm Village Center for herself. The money will go toward the purchase of new computers.

Guident Technologies of Herndon, a leading integrator of business intelligence, management consulting and systems engineering services to the government and commercial marketplaces, announced that the General Services Administration has awarded an Alliant Small Business contract to Federal Innovators Alliance, a joint venture between Guident, Quality Software Services, Inc. (QSSI), and Collins Consulting, Inc.

Trinity Group Construction, Inc. of Herndon was recognized by the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority for "outstanding business success" at the 2009 Celebration of Northern Virginia Business Success.

Tata Communications, a member of the $62.5 billion Tata Group based in India, announced the opening of a new center in Herndon that is equipped with a state-of-the-art Cisco-certified TelePresence room to host "virtual" meetings around the world. Tata Communications leased about 26,000 square feet of space at 2355 Dulles Corner Boulevard to accommodate about 100 employees.

ConnellyWorks Inc. of Herndon, a full-service marketing communications agency, was named the public relations agency of record for FOSE 2009 and the GovSec, U.S. Law conferences and exhibitions.
