Centreville Regional Library will be offering AARP Tax-Aide to walk-in clients on Tuesdays from 1-8 p.m.; Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting Feb. 1 through April 15. The library is at 14200 St. Germaine Dr., Centreville. This year, all tax returns will be electronically filed. All taxpayers MUST bring a government issued picture ID and Social Security cards for all persons included on the tax return. Austin Grill in Centreville is holding a Kids Eat Free (2 per paying adult) on Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m.

Yoplait Pink Lids are being collected by the Western Fairfax Alumnae of Zeta Tau Alpha. Yoplait will donate 10 cents to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and 5 cents to the ZTA Foundation for every lid sent in by Zeta. A pink drop box can be found in the Centreville United Methodist Church narthex (intersection of Route 28/New Braddock Road) on the mission table until Dec. 9.

Chick-fil-A at Fair Oaks Mall hosts "Family Night" every Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Every week there is a free, different activity to entertain kids of all ages. The Clock Tower Thrift store in Centreville needs volunteers on weekdays and weekends to help in sorting out merchandise, tagging and organizing it. Volunteers (not younger than 16 years old) will also greet and assist customers that bring donations and buy store items. The 36th Green Breakfast will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Old Country Buffet in Fairfax City. The restaurant is in Fair City Mall at Route 236 and Pickett Road, next to the Cinema Arts Theater. The speaker is Kevin Munroe, Huntley Meadows Park Manager, who will discuss the Huntley Meadows Wetland Restoration Project. The Huntley Meadows Wetland Restoration Project is an attempt to reverse wetland succession hastened by the effects of development in the watershed. Cost is $9. No reservations are necessary. The Democratic Women of Clifton monthly meetings are open to all Democratic women in Northern Virginia. The meetings are held on Sunday afternoons from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Clifton Community Hall, 12641 Chapel Road, Clifton. At its next meeting on Sunday, Jan. 11, guest speakers will address issues facing those with mental and physical disabilities. The Fairfax County Animal Shelter will host a low-cost rabies clinic Sunday, Jan. 11 from 2-4 p.m. The January clinic will be held at the animal shelter located at 4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax. The cost for rabies vaccines at the clinic is $12 per pet. The clinic is held for dogs, cats and ferrets. Fairfax County 2009 dog licenses will be sold separately at the clinic and cost $10 per dog. The Chantilly Pyramid Minority Student Achievement Committee (CPMSAC), is holding its 15th annual MLK King Festival on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 4 p.m. The event will be held at Centreville High School, with performances by Chantilly, Centreville, Oakton, Westfield Pyramid students. The snow makeup date is Sunday, Feb. 8 at Centreville High.

The Old Dominion Chrysanthemum Society will present a one-hour slide and descriptive program on Sunday, Jan. 11 with a Q&A on "Landscaping with Chrysanthemums," describing the steps to take now for the planting, caring for the beds and plants, etc., to produce a profusion of Fall colors in your garden.
