On Monday, Jan. 19, The Reading Connection (TRC) and Kinder Haus Toys collected more than 1,000 children’s books at a book drive to benefit TRC’s four literacy programs. The donated books will be distributed through TRC’s shelter read- alouds, monthly book club and its workshops for parents and family support workers.
The Avon Foundation Breast Care Fund has awarded a $35,000 one-year grant to Arlington Free Clinic to increase awareness of the life-saving benefits of early detection of breast cancer and to provide breast health care services. It is the seventh year that the program has received Avon Foundation funding to support its work on this health issue.
