Outgoing Exhibit: Farewell Exhibition for Ceramics Artist JoJo Rowley runs through Aug. 28. JoJo, who was the recipient of the 2008-09 Emerging Ceramic Artist Grant is having her Exit Exhibition in the Vulcan. Join Rowley for a reception and Artist Talk on her experience at the Workhouse on Friday, Aug. 28, from 6-8:30 p.m.
Virginia Watercolor Society 30th Anniversary Exhibition runs from Sept. 1-Oct. 15. The juried exhibition celebrates the Virginia Watercolor Society's 30th Anniversary in Gallery W-16 featuring 101 works from the group’s members. The public is invited to a free juror talk on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m., given by Tony Van Hasselt.
Workhouse Arts Center Exhibit runs Sept. 9-Oct. 4 in the Gallery in Studio 5. Hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.- 7-p.m., and Sundays, 12-5 p.m., 12-5 p.m. An opening reception takes place Saturday, Sept. 12, from 6-9 p.m. Free. Works of "Synergy," original encaustics, Intaglio prints and oil paintings by Julia Dzikiewicz, Norma Pfaff and Denise Shamoun Phalan. Workhouse Art Guild: Dog Days of Summer exhibit runs through Sept. 13. Members of the Workhouse Artists Guild are exhibiting a variety of works in Gallery W-16, first floor.
First Anniversary Celebration of The Workhouse. Saturday, Sept. 19, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Bring friends and family to help the Workhouse celebrate its one year anniversary with live performances, storytelling, children’s events, artist demos and workshops.
