Pamela Davis Alexander (age 56) died suddenly on April 19, 2009 at Alexandria Hospital after a brief illness.
Pam was born in Dundalk, Md. and moved to the Northern Virginia area in 1976. She graduated from the University of Maryland in 1974 and, most recently, from George Washington University with a master’s degree in counseling. During her 30-year career as an educator, Pam taught health education at G. Gardner Shugart and Eugene Burroughs Middle School in Prince George’s County.
She is survived by her husband, David C. "Beck" Roehrenbeck of Alexandria, and her two daughters, Brooke Byer Alexander and Hollis Alexander Gorham (Richard), both of Fairfax, as well as the girls’ father, Brian Alexander, whose marriage to Pam ended in divorce in 1985. Pam had two stepchildren, Anne Ashley Croker (Thomas) and David Roehrenbeck (Cybil). She is also survived by her three sisters, Jacqueline Spaulding of Radford, Va., Susan Barnes of Wilmington, Del., and Deborah Nichols of Arlington, Va.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Christ Church in Old Town Alexandria. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Men’s Home, 402 Hume Avenue, Alexandria, VA, 22301.
