The library teen council is seeking teen volunteers age 12-18 to help create the council's first program for children, Sunday, Oct. 26, 4:30-6 p.m., at the Ashburn Library, 43316 Hay Road, Ashburn. The polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. As an officer of election you must be at the polls from 5 a.m. until the polls close, the results are called in and all equipment is packed and ready to return to the Office of the General Registrar. Election officers may choose to work from 5 a.m. till the close of polls or may work from 5 a.m.-1:30 p.m. or from noon until the close of polls and all election records are completed.
The pay is $100 for the entire day, $50 for a half-day plus $20 for the training session. The training session deals with both general knowledge and setting up and using the machines in an election. Information about the training session will be sent prior to the elections.
